Dear YOGA Magazine readers,

Greetings and blessings,

February is the month of love and Yoga Magazine wishes you a month filled with love, both for yourself and for your loved ones. Love begins with self and without love for the self, it is difficult to love others and to let others love you.

In this issue of Yoga Magazine, we talk with Mat and Ash, who are better known as ‘The Yoga Couple’, to understand the connection between yoga and relationships and how they approach life and relationships. We also explore what real beauty is with Rola Tassabehji through the transformative power of yoga. We look at Don Miguel Ruiz and Barbara Emrys’ book ‘EROS: A Return to Unconditional Love’ to discover what it feels like to be completely in love.

This month we also help you practise self care and self love by taking care of your body and your mind. Lauren Windas talks about Eating Disorders and how our food reflects our psychology. Similarly, Herbalist Sebastian Pole suggests how we may use different herbs to better nurture our bodies and we also explore how the healthiest people living in the Blue Zone nourish themselves. Andrea Marcum explores how during Savasana (the corpse pose), through the death of chaos and commotion, one may find clarity and cogency.

In the spirit of self-love and self-healing, we look at the healing effects of music with with Dr. Rajan Sankaran. We examine how the frequencies and vibrations of the traditional ragas of classical Indian music pervade through our consciousness and encourage healing of the mind and spirit. Ruth Maher tells us how yoga can be beneficial for women going through menopause and shows us several poses that help menopausal women strengthen their bodies and minds. We hear from Jess Horn on how to be a better yoga teacher as she shares her top 10 tips on refining your teaching, while Michele Palmieri Coriale explores how yoga can be a tool to practice finding the Truth of Spirit and spread love and compassion.

We present to you Maharshi Patanjali, the father of Modern Yoga and Yogi Bhajan who brought Kundalini yoga to the mainstream. We hope you enjoy this issue of YOGA Magazine and thank you for letting us be a part of your journey.

Love, peace and good wishes!
